Understand the principles and tools available today in this free education series from Sun Microsystems.
Instructor: Ruud van der Pas, Senior Staff Engineer, Technical Developer Tools.
Module 2 - In module 2 we will dive a little deeper into multi-core chip architectures and the problems they create for developing parallel applications.
Module 3 - In module 3 parallel architectures and chip memory design and their impact on parallel programming are discussed.
Module 5 - In module 5 we look at programming for distributed memory and the message passing interface (MPI).
Module 6 - Parallel Programming Models - Shared Memory, Auto Parallel and Open MP.
In module seven we will look at programming for shared memory, auto parallelization and OpenMP.
Module 7 - In this final module we discuss the hybrid programming module which combines OpenMP and MPI technologies to gain the maximum amount of parallelization possible.
